New York wins 4-1 behind Cole, Judge

Mullins' 10th-inning heroics lift Orioles past Yankees

BALTIMORE, Md. (AP) — The benches cleared between the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night as tensions boiled over in a chippy affair that the Yankees eventually won 4-1.

The incident occurred in the bottom of the fifth inning after Orioles pitcher Dean Kremer hit Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge with a pitch. Judge took exception and began yelling at Kremer, who responded in kind. Both benches and bullpens emptied, and there was a brief shoving match before order was restored.

The Yankees went on to score three runs in the sixth inning to take a 3-0 lead. Judge hit a solo home run in the seventh to make it 4-0.

The Orioles got on the board in the bottom of the eighth inning on a sacrifice fly by Cedric Mullins. But the Yankees bullpen held on to secure the win.

Gerrit Cole started for the Yankees and allowed just one run on four hits over six innings. He struck out 10 batters.

Kremer took the loss for the Orioles. He allowed three runs on six hits over five innings. He struck out four batters.
